Big Wipes was in colourful attendance at The RCI Show held in Coventry on the 29th-30th of October 2014. It turned out to be the perfect showcase for all roofing, cladding and insulation products and services for trade professionals and specifiers.
Roofzine on the 2014 RCI Show
This is what Roofzine, the online edition of RCI Magazine had to say about the exhibition:
“A broad cross-section of the roofing, cladding and industry sectors from both the UK and abroad descended on the Ricoh Area, Coventry, for the first annual RCI Show.
“Over 130 exhibitors brought thousands of new products and materials to this inaugural event for the roofing, cladding and insulation sectors. The Show hall certainly was a hive of activity for both days of the event. Simultaneously, the Seminar Theatres were packed and the Demo areas busy. Visitors definitely made the most of the expertise on offer in the Technical Centre.
“Feedback from those exhibiting and those visiting was wholly positive over the course of the event. Manufacturers praised the show’s ability to attract the right audience of contractors and specifiers. They consequently did good business from their stands and generated quality leads. Comparing the show to other industry exhibitions he had exhibited at, Ruud Veldwijk of OMG Roofing Products said: “I have a feeling that this is better. There is a better mix of stand-holders and also a good mix of people that are coming, (such as) contractors, which we like as we like to promote to the end user.”
Big Wipes – First time at the RCI Show
Speaking on day two of the Show, David Hawkins, Brand Ambassador for Big Wipes, said: “There are a lot of roofing distributors and contractors here. These are the guys who we need to talk to. The visitors to the Big Wipes stand were so impressed, that they took to social media to express their feelings. In addition, the RCI Show organisers sent their film crew to capture the fantastic demonstrations.

Visitors were also pleased with what the show had to offer. One employee of SM Roofing told RCI: “This is absolutely ideal for me. It is fantastic; really what we want to see.”
Jay Smith from Cefil UK stated: “The RCI Show is a great networking event and it’s good for the industry. Most importantly, it’s fresh and bespoke for what we do. Having an industry-specific show certainly is a real coup.”
Another visitor, Graham Foxcroft of Foxcroft Roofing and Building, added: “The show is very well put together. It’s quite good to know that there is stuff available that we can’t get on our local shelves – to get that product knowledge. By and large, that’s why I’ve come. Undeniably, there is a good mix here, there is all sorts of stuff going on.”
