InstallerShow 2022 – record number of visitors

InstallerSHOW 2022 proved to be a record-breaking event when it opened its doors for the first time at the NEC Birmingham in June.  The show is the UK’s largest gathering of professionals involved in the installation, specification and implementation of net zero products and services.

The exhibition was double the size of the previous year, with just under 10,000 people attending.  Visitors were keen to not only talk to over 300 exhibitors, but also to listen to the comprehensive programme of seminars, debates, demos and panel discussions.

The Big Wipes Stand

It goes without saying that the Big Wipes team was there in all its colourful glory.  A huge number of visitors, old friends and new friends to-be-made swamped our stand throughout the 3 days.  Many had heard all about the famous Big Wipes demo from friends and social media channels.  The latter were certainly used to spread the word about the power of Big Wipes cleaning wipes, during and after the show.  We were particularly surprised and delighted when we received a surprise visit by none other than Dion Dublin.  He confessed that he specifically came to our stand to take a selfie with the ‘Big Wipes guy’!  A request that was obviously not denied.

Great Debates at InstallerShow 2022

During the three days, InstallerShow 2022 hosted a packed schedule of Great Debates on the InstallerPLAZA.  With changes to the Building Regulations being introduced in June, efficiency and sustainability were some of the key talking points for installers, manufacturers and associations. Themes under discussion included hydrogen, heat pumps, heat loss calculations, smart homes, water conservation and more.  To this end, over 100 speakers shared their knowledge and inspired the audience.  Furthermore, visitors learnt how to tackle the key issues facing the industry when it comes to energy and heat.

Environmental Campaigner Johnathon Poritt was one of the keynote speakers, as well as Lord Callanan, the UK business & energy minister.  The latter addressed visitors with a video emphasising the scale of the challenges we face on the route to net zero.  He also highlighted the progress made so far, including the Public Sector Decarbonisation Fund.

What do the people say about InstallerShow 2022?

“It was our pleasure to welcome installers to the NEC for our biggest ever InstallerSHOW,” said Mike Costain, Managing Director of Installer. “It’s an exciting time for the industry as we accelerate to Net Zero.  It is clear that engineers are on the front line of this transition. We want to help them get hands-on with the latest innovations, learn new techniques and discuss the ideas to help futureproof themselves and their businesses.”

Ian Taylor, Managing Director, Conventions & Exhibitions, NEC Group, said: “We were simply blown away by InstallerSHOW 2022.  Despite the rail strikes, this energetic, content-rich show attracted large numbers of industry heavyweights.  It had such a buzz about it for the whole three days.  We plan on supporting the team with their growth by hosting the event in the larger Hall 5 next year.”

Ian Briggs, heating engineer and owner of IRB Heating added: “A trip to the InstallerSHOW is well worth it. I discovered both new technologies and new products, plus I could talk to the manufacturers.  If you have any questions, they’ll give you all the information you need.”
