Swissbau 2016 took place in Basel in January. Although the construction industry had cooled off somewhat since the record year 2014, the topic continued to inspire and the show saw no decrease in visitors.
Swissbau is one of Europe’s biggest trade fairs for the construction industry and constitutes a central meeting point for Switzerland’s construction industry every two years. During the five days of Swissbau 2016, around 1100 exhibitors met up with more than 100,000 visitors.
Big Wipes attended with our Swiss distributor, MHG Heiztechnik (Schweiz) GmbH. Nobody stayed neutral after seeing a demonstration on how Big Wipes can remove even the worst construction grime from hands, tools and surfaces.
With exhibitors from 19 countries, Swissbau 2016 offered an immense range of products and services from the areas of concept and planning, construction site and work yard, shell and shell, building technology and interior design. Visitors had the opportunity to acquire a comprehensive overview of the market and familiarise themselves with a large number of new products and services. The dialogue between exhibitors, associations, institutions and visitors promoted the exchange of knowledge and fostered networking.
This similarly held true of Swissbau Focus, with its 60 or so events dedicated to the following subjects: initial and further training, spatial development, the construction industry, the energy U-turn, architecture and planning, construction systems and materials, interior design, use and maintenance, and building services engineering.
In addition to the elaborate Swissbau 2016 exhibition, the trade visitors were also offered numerous other highlights. The two trend worlds, the bathroom and the kitchen, Switzerland’s largest exhibition of this kind, are the result of award-winning solutions that combine efficiency and aesthetics to perfection.
Federal Councilor Ueli Maurer opened this Swissbau 2016 with cautiously optimistic tones. This was due to the fact that the construction industry in recent years in some regions of Switzerland had a loss of turnover. However, he was inspired by the innovative strength, the creativity and the variety of products and solutions presented at Swissbau 2016.
