Online P&D Show with Big Wipes was a triumph

Were you one of the many thousands of decorating professionals who visited the Online P&D Show this year?  The events of 2020 have meant we’ve all had to change the way we do things. So while the trade’s annual exhibition ‘The National Painting and Decorating Show’ couldn’t take place this November, visitors could still see all that’s best, new and innovative, catch up on Masterclasses and explore new business opportunities online.

The event ran for six weeks until the end of October and attracted over 8,000 visitors who racked up a whopping 73,000 page views.

Big Wipes part of Online P&D Show

Big Wipes naturally took part in this show, though we weren’t sure what to expect.  Our uncertainty turned into delight when we saw the visits to our dedicated site, followed by the number of entries to our competition!

The online show turned out to be the perfect platform to showcase our range of antibacterial wipes and the differences between them.  Even though we prefer to demonstrate the magic of our wipes face-to-face, visitors were at least able to watch our world-famous viral video.

We also gave visitors a taste of our products by offering them a fantastic prize bundle.  One bundle consisted of 1 bucket Heavy-Duty wipes (240 wipes), 1 bucket Multi-Surface wipes (150 wipes) and 1 bucket Multi-Purpose wipes (300 wipes).

Total Triumph says Painting & Decorating News

Paul Murray, Editor of the Painting & Decorating News commented: “This was the first industry event of its kind.  We thus had no idea how it would go! But as it turned out it was a total triumph. Exhibitors really entered into the spirit of the thing, posting practical how-to videos, launching some amazing new products and offering great competition prizes.

“You can’t completely replicate the buzz and excitement of a live show but in the absence of the national event at Ricoh Arena, we were able to keep everyone up-to-date with all the latest industry news and product innovations”.

Unique Opportunity says Painting and Decorating Association

Neil Ogilvie, Chief Executive of The Painting and Decorating Association also reflected on the Online P&D Show 2020.

“The P&D Show is a highlight of the Painting and Decorating Association (PDA) calendar every year, with our AGM usually taking place at the event.  This year, as the industry – and the nation – attempts to deal with the challenges of Covid-19, it has been a pleasure to once more be involved with the show, albeit virtually!

“The show has been a unique opportunity to reach out to members, partners and the wider industry across the UK, while showcasing the many benefits of PDA membership and celebrating the key relationships we value so much.  While we have missed the opportunity to chat with visitors face-to-face, we have seen how the digital world and social media allow us to connect in new ways.

Even though the Online P&D Show was a success for us at Big Wipes, we are looking forward to the ‘real’ event in Coventry next year!
