Heating Installer Awards 2021 – The Winner is crowned

Grant Gundelfinger, of Mayfly Group Ltd, fought off strong competition to be crowned the winner of the Heating Installer Awards 2021.  Grant impressed the judges with his high level of technicality, outstanding professionalism and commitment to the industry and his customers.  The award ceremony took place in front of a packed audience at the InstallerShow in Coventry in September.

What are the Heating Installer Awards?

The Heating Installer Awards are a prestigious awards scheme which recognises the nation’s best heating installers.   Now in its sixth year, it showcases the superstars of the industry who have gone unnoticed, until today.  The Awards celebrate the achievements and the credibility of plumbers and heating installers, who deliver an excellent quality of work and customer service on a daily basis. Big Wipes is very proud to be one of the sponsors, especially as all the entries this year were exceptional.

The National Heating Installer Awards 2021 Winner

This is the third year Gundelfinger has excelled at the awards. He won the Yorkshire regional title in both 2019 and 2020 and was national runner up in 2019.

Grant said: “It’s the third  time that I’ve been recognised as the best Heating Installer in Yorkshire, and I’m so proud to have won the overall national award. To be honoured by your peers as well as some of the biggest names in the industry is incredibly gratifying.  I am so thankful for this recognition!”

“I have seen how winning the award has boosted previous winner’s careers.  That is why I cannot wait to see what is in store for the future.  It’s even better that my family was here to see this too,” concluded Grant.

Runner-Up Heating Installer of the Year

Paul Clark of Concept Plumbing and Heating, from Hoylake on the Wirral,  claimed the coveted runner-up spot.  Paul has over 20 years’ experience and covers all areas of advanced plumbing and heating systems.  For obvious reasons, we are quite fond of Paul and congratulate him on this achievement!

Rising Star Award

Carl Ladd from Leamington Spa scooped the Rising Star award which recognises the industry’s budding apprentices.  Impressively, Carl started his plumbing career after severely crushing his hand in an accident.  The judges valued his level of commitment and desire to achieve high standards. Although he’s still training, Carl has also set up the Apprentice Foundation.  This aims to connect full-time learners with employers looking to take on apprentices.

Last but by no means least, the Most Sustainable Installer Award, went to Benjamin Lee from B LEE Plumbing and Heating in Salcombe, Devon. This award recognises those who are doing everything they can to minimise the impact of their work on the environment.  Benjamin impressed the judges with his commitment to providing sustainable products, processes and solutions to his customers.
